Our approach to quality
Quality in size reduction is measured by results on the customer’s material: output, fineness, temperature and reliability. Premium Pulman’s quality system therefore starts before manufacture — with trials — and continues through inspection, commissioning and spares.
Quality at each stage
- Application trials – the customer’s material is ground and checked by sieve analysis to fix the machine configuration.
- Design review – drawings and layouts prepared and checked in the design office.
- Incoming and in-process inspection – dimensions and hardness checked in-house; chemical or metallurgical tests through standard test houses where required.
- Rotor balancing – rotors are dynamically balanced.
- Electrical checks – electrical systems inspected and tested.
- Vendor quality – the quality assurance department covers manufacturing and vendor premises.
- Commissioning – performance verified at site during start-up.
Design features that support reliability
- Hinged swing-back hammers and flyback systems that protect rotors from foreign objects
- Inlet magnets to stop tramp iron
- Sealed, lubricated bearings and whizzer blades that keep brine or dust out of bearings
- Replaceable liners and wear parts
- Specifications are continuously improved and are subject to change without notice
