Whirlpul Micronizer – Turbulence Grinding for Heat-Sensitive Materials

The Premium Whirlpul Micronizer grinds by intense turbulence, pressure fluctuation and vibration rather than brute impact alone. That makes it well suited to heat-sensitive chemicals, plastics, synthetic resins, gums and cellular materials that break down from within.

Design

The unit consists of multiple rotor chambers interspersed with circular discs, all mounted on a rotating shaft inside a casing lined with hardened steel plates. A lower and an upper fan drive air through the annular gap between rotor and stator, with the air quantity regulated by air slides. Material is introduced at the base into an intensely turbulent upward air stream; a recycling duct returns insufficiently ground material to the lower section, and a cyclone and dust collector capture the fine product.

Working principle

As material rises with the air it is subjected to turbulence, pressure fluctuations and vibration that break it down internally — especially effective for cellular or delicate substances. Grinding takes place at the periphery of the multi-chamber rotor by blade impact, liner resistance and attrition in a circulating air system.

Capacity values are based on guar grain at approximately 150 mesh and vary with particle size, moisture and fineness. Specifications and design are subject to change without notice for improvement. Capacity depends on material, feed size, moisture and required fineness.

Suitable materials

  • Plastics and synthetic resins (e.g. vinyl, PVC, polyethylene, polyamide, PTFE), waxes
  • Heat-sensitive chemicals and elastomers, synthetic rubber
  • Non-metallic minerals: limestone, dolomite, graphite, coal, mica, calcium carbonate, kaolin, chalk, clays
  • Metallic salts, organic compounds, catalysts, metallic oxides, titanium oxide, carbon black
  • Pigments and dyes; insecticides and pesticides with carriers
  • Gums (including guar gum), pectin, cellulose derivatives, starches
  • Cereal grains, legumes, cocoa, spices, animal and aqua feed supplements

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a micronizer different from a pulverizer?

A micronizer is a pulverizer designed for very fine output. The Whirlpul relies on air turbulence and attrition in multiple chambers, which keeps product temperature low — useful for resins, gums and heat-sensitive chemicals.

Can I run a trial?

Yes, live trials are available in our demonstration room.

Not sure which pulverizer fits your material?

Send us your material, required fineness and hourly output. Our application engineers will recommend a machine and can arrange a trial grind in our demonstration room in Ahmedabad.
