How it works
Slurry is fed into a perforated basket lined with filter media and spun at high speed. Centrifugal force drives the mixture outwards; liquid passes through the filter and drains away, while solids build up on the basket wall and are removed manually or automatically. Manual, semi-automatic and automatic versions are built in stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials.

Quick bag lifting (bag lifted out with the top cover) and basket lifting (spare basket for fast changeover, often with steam jacket for fat extraction) arrangements shorten batch cycles.
Bottom discharge centrifuges
Two-speed operation: low speed while feeding, high speed to separate, then low speed while a hydraulic or mechanical scraper discharges the cake through the bottom opening onto a conveyor.

Applications
Chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, food and beverage, wastewater, dyes and pigments, mineral and metal processing; fat extraction, bobbin dye recovery, cutting-oil recovery from metal chips, and dewatering washed vegetables and mushrooms. In salt refineries the centrifuge follows the wet hammer mill.
