Two operations
- Coarse grinding – Miracle Mill breaks turmeric to 3–5 mm.
- Fine grinding – a classifier mill: Wizzcon Mill or Impact Pulverizer, chosen to suit the customer’s output and fineness.
- Sieving – gyro screen or vibro screen.
- Conveying – bucket elevators and screw conveyors sized to capacity.
For small installations, an impact pulverizer alone followed by a vibro screen can be used.
Complete turmeric line
Premium can offer a complete turmeric line — Miracle Mill, Wizzcon Mill, gyro screen and conveyors — of the desired capacity. The suggested process gives cool grinding, which matters because turmeric’s colour (curcumin) and aroma degrade with heat.
Upstream processing
Before grinding, turmeric is cleaned and polished; boiling and drying are typically done at farm or primary-processing level. Clean, dry fingers grind faster and give a brighter powder. Ask us about cleaning, destoning and polishing equipment to complete the line.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why not grind turmeric in one stage?
Whole fingers are too hard and irregular for a fine-grinding mill. Pre-breaking to 3–5 mm lets the fine mill run cooler and more consistently.
