Materials
- PVC, polyethylene, polyamide, PTFE
- Vinyl and other synthetic resins; phenolic resin
- Waxes and elastomers, synthetic rubber
- Heat-sensitive plastic granules
Machines used
| Machine | Role |
|---|---|
| Whirlpul Micronizer | Turbulence and attrition grinding of plastics, resins and waxes |
| Turbo Classifier Mill | Phenolic resin and similar brittle resins, with chilled air |
| Air Classifier Mill | Conditioned air, narrow PSD |
| Custom systems | Engineered via OEM & custom grinding |
Keeping plastics cool
Plastics soften and smear as they heat. Strategies include high air volume, water-cooled chambers, chilled inlet air (about 20 °C below ambient in the turbo classifier mill set-up) and correct tip speed. Feed size and moisture are checked in trials before a system is proposed.
Frequently Asked Questions
