Technical overview
Grinding takes place in a highly turbulent air stream. Centrifugal force carries material from the centre outwards, where it is ground uniformly against classifier screens mounted around the periphery. Material keeps circulating in the grinding zone until it is fine enough; then the air stream carries it out. Coarser particles stay for further grinding, and the product leaves the mill air-cooled.
Rotors and classifier stators
- Bar-type blast rotor – straight bars create high turbulence and pressure; ideal for medium to coarse grinding (common in the Junior series).
- Plate-type blast rotor – combines impact and shear for medium to fine grinding.
- Full-screen classifier stator – circular rings with tensioned wires for even airflow and precise sizing when higher fineness is needed.
- Semi-screen classifier stator – full-screen and plain segments for rough classification, dust extraction and high-throughput coarse work.
Operation
- Variable-speed screw feeder for regulated feed
- Dynamically balanced rotor; interchangeable stators control particle size and shape
- Air current and screens classify; a blower collects the product
- Dust collectors and automatic collection available on finer models; reverse pulse air-jet collector recommended for dusty or pungent materials

Main motor HP depends on model, capacity, fineness and material. Specifications and design are subject to change without notice for improvement. Capacity depends on material, feed size, moisture and required fineness.
Where it fits
Spice plants use Universal Mills alongside Miracle Mills for coarse grinding and pre-cutting of chillies. It is also a good general-purpose mill for food, chemical and pharmaceutical powders where one machine must handle several products.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called a universal mill?
Because interchangeable rotors and stators let one machine handle coarse, medium and fine grinding of many different materials.
What is the difference between Junior and Senior series?
Junior mills (160–310 mm rotors, 2–7.5 HP) are compact and simple. Senior mills (480–1000 mm, 15–100 HP) have screw feeders and mechanical or pneumatic discharge for large-scale production.
