Micro Hammer Mill – Fine Grinding with Built-in Conveying

The Premium micro hammer mill combines the close tolerances and high speed of a micro pulverizer with the robustness of the Miracle (star) hammer mill. It gives finer grinding than a conventional hammer mill pulverizer and is ideal where you need medium fineness with grinding, sieving and collection in one unit.

Types and models

The micro hammer mill is built in three types:

  • Bottom Open Type (BOT) – mounted on a fabricated stand; a semi-circular screen in the lower body sets the fineness.
  • Co-axial Blower type (CAB) – blower on the main rotor shaft, cyclone collector, fabric dust collector and piping for pneumatic conveying, with a rotary airlock valve at the cyclone outlet.
  • Non-axial Blower type (NAB) – separate blower with its own motor or transmission, so blower speed is chosen independently of the mill.

CAB and NAB versions are available as a Positive Pressure System (PPS) or Negative Pressure System (NPS). Three sizes are offered — Minor, Adult and Major — each with a rotor carrying ‘π’-shaped grinding elements in carbon steel or stainless steel.

Salient features

  • Finer grinding than conventional hammer mills thanks to close tolerances, high speed and ‘C’-type hammers.
  • Separate shaft and drive arrangement lets you select blower speed while sharing a common motor.
  • In-built conveying: cyclone collector, rotary airlock valve and fabric dust collector form a complete grinding–sieving–collection system.
  • Manual feeding on small mills; mechanised feeding recommended for larger mills.
  • Body in MS, MS with SS lining or complete SS.

Popular applications

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose a micro hammer mill instead of a Miracle Mill?

When the product must be finer than a standard hammer mill gives but you still want a simple screened machine with integrated conveying. For coarse grinding or very high tonnage, the Miracle Mill remains the better choice.

What does PPS and NPS mean?

Positive Pressure System: the blower pushes material from the mill to the cyclone. Negative Pressure System: the blower sits after the cyclone and pulls air through the system, keeping the plant dust-free.
